I have a 2000 MonteCarlo 3400.

The RPM 's depend very much on tire size, gear ratio and the speed of the vehicle. For many cars travelling at 60 miles per hour you may see 2000 to 2500 rpm. Smaller cars will have higher RPM's for the same speed. There is no easy answer because one has to know the exact dimensions mentioned above.

The general rule is ABOUT 2000 rpm at 55 in high gear, but it varies between different makes and models.

it should shift at about 12 to 1500 rpm under normal driveing conditions and the rpm at say 100 km should be about 1300 to say 2000 hope this helps

It depends on the make, but I would say that between 1900 and 2500 RPMS is okay for gas efficiency and engine wear.

2500 rpms :)

my daughter had a small Toyota with just a 4 speed that she drove at 3500 all the time and it blew up at 65k miles :(
