A guy ended up entrusting me with something about himself, something he was worried that he would be judged on harshly. What words could I use to show that I am thankful that he shared such information with me? I don't want to say "thank you" or I admire you for such....Any suggestions? Thanks

They told you that because they feel they can trust you. It almost seems like they like you, so Like me I don't like to be judged, maybe just try to tell them your not trying to hurt or anything else. Make sure everything that was said Will stay between the two of you.

You don't have to thank him. Just tell him that you really care for him, and that you're always there for him to confide in you. It's always great knowing there's someone there for you to trust. In order for him to keep his trust, he's gotta know that you'll always be there for him. And you won't share his problems with anyone else. But you can help ease him through his problem. :)

Sure, tell him you appreciate his confidence in you and assure him that his revelation will remain between him and you. AND KEEP THAT PROMISE. Tell him what you do think too. Tell him you are surprised, or impressed, or perhaps concerned if there are reasons to be concerned but you are not judgemental and accept him as he is regardless. Tell him we all have warts or secrets and no one has the right to claim perfection. Tell him it doesn't matter to you.

show it in action not by words coz action speaks louder than words. don't you ever use the words "i understand how you feel" coz I'm sure he won't like it he would think that you don't care the opposite of how you really feel just relate some of your experience that he might think you trust him as much as he trust you.
