My problem with it! is the fact i don't see how or why ppl don't take a bath in this day and age - It's offensive and anti social ppl who don't should all get ASBO's Anti social behaviour orders from the court and they should be banned from public transport and working supermarkets cos it's really off putting

Yes - I know at least one of the older generation who takes a bath every weekend. Which in today's world is really yuk. But it's very easy to condemn them - you need to spare a thought for the way people were brought up back then.

As a child, our house had no bathroom; only the better off were so lucky. The toilet was in the back yard; our bath a tin tub! Many thousands of homes in those wartime and post war days were the same. The accepted idea was that you were 'dirty' if you didn't bath every week.

Now most of us have beautiful bathrooms with power showers and every luxury, and it's wonderful. But some older people still have that idea - it's what they were taught, and how they were brought up.

Long live soap and water!

What is the problem with that.
Your question is vague.
My son-in-law is 17, and it appears he is going for the world record in uncleanliness (he hasn't washed or showered for nearly 2 weeks), but I wash every day in the morning, sometimes in the evening as well if I've been energetic and feel a bit sweaty.
I have both a shower and a bath, but I tend to use the shower.

showering twice a day is a bit excessive, and as you get older, you'll see why when your skin is very tried out and you wonder why. Nothing wrong with being clean, just don't over do it.

I take either a bath or a shower at least every other day, but usually everyday 1 or the other.

Yes of course. But why do you ask? When I was growing up in the early sixties I remember a lot of STRANGE things about the way we lived. Then I joined the Air Force and saw customs from a few interesting places.

First - As a kid in south jersey we lacked the funds to keep a full tank of heating fuel throughout the entire winter. As kids we heated up some water on the stove and took a sponge bath as quickly as possible. MAN WAS IT COLD. But real bath time was either for church or the start of the school week. Then sponge bath every night unless special occasions. We always did our hair over the sink with a tea kettle and grandma putting the towel around our shoulders as she directed the swishing of the bar soap in unison with her poring the water. Then things got better and finally big houses and NICE bathing every night. Sometimes twice in a day if need be.

Now- Europe. Lived there for 6 years. Oil, coal expensive but wood was fairly easy to come by. Tradition and due to a few things like WARS that had totally ravaged these countries, The use of natural resources to heat water and the cost of electric made it EXPENSIVE to bath every day. A simple sponge bath and hair washing sufficed till church. My first trip there I was surprised to find out that when I rented an upstairs apartment for me and my pregnant wife, that I was required to chop fire wood and every three or four days carry it from the barn to the house. We still had to heat water in big tanks that where wood fired. This was in the early 1980's.

So economics plays a big roll in how hygiene is approached in many parts of the world.
Don't get me wrong, things where pretty modern and in the cities there was plenty of hot water and baths, at a price.

The beauty of these countries is something you should try to see if possible.

I wash in the sink in the mornings only. Then I'll have a bath and wash my hair once every 10 days or so.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Give me a shower on a daily basis, twice in hot weather - maybe three times depending on what I'm doing and if I'm going anywhere or hope to be doing something. LOL - My Mrs doesn't sweat at all (unless she's got a temperature) but if she's not so good, she can go a couple of days without showering and doesn't whiff at all.

I am too ill to get myself to have a bath or shower. I'd love to have one more often but I can't.
