A liberal thinks that the government should do everything for the people and conservatives think that we should be reliant on ourselves. Everything the liberals have done in the last 40 years or so has encouraged people to be less productive and more reliant on the government. The conservatives have kept too silent while the government has grown exponentially during that time, although during the current administration, which is supposed to be conservative, the government has increased to the point that they have been out spending the liberals. So, if you believe that the government should take care of everyone and they should not do for themselves, you are probably a liberal. On the other hand, if you feel that people should be rewarded for their own efforts and be held accountable for their actions, you are likely a conservative.

If your an intelligent human being your probably somewhere in the middle. Search what Liberal means on the net. Then find out what Conservative means. Then decide which one fits with your ideals more. Simple as that.

you may end up learning like i did. i started out my life listening to everyone and considering everything. then one day i was walking down the street, turned a corner, and got mugged by reality. if anyone asks me if i'm liberal or conservative, i simply tell them my story and say : i'm a "mugged conservative". try it !

If you walk past buildings and bricks get stuck up your @$$ like it's the black hole then you may be conservative.
If you have sex with little boys but are against gay rights you may be a republican conservative.
If screw up every lie ever written for you in a speech the stand in front of the whole country looking like a dumb @$$ piece of crap. You may be a conservative or a Bush.
If you don't think this shyt is funny and you don't think it's 100% true you might be a sorry punk @$$ conservative.

Why paint yourself with such a broad brush? You can have varying beliefs without calling yourself either. It seems to go by the "flavor of the day" issues such as abortion, environment, freedom of speech and religion. Be true to yourself.
