Good PS2 RPG?

Question

Does anyone know a good action type RPG for ps2. I dont like games where you take turns fighting although I do like Front Mission. Final Fantasies I know but I'm looking one with a different thats different. Being that I'm not a huge RPG fan I could have missed a couple so you can mention old ones.

Dark Cloud2 is a great RPG game. It's a action/RPG and it has realtime battles instead of turn-based. Its pretty long and every bit enjoyable.

.hack series-also has real-time battling and its a very unique game, its a simulation of a MMORPG, however, be warned its four games long...

Star Ocean III-its another Square-Enix game, the characters and plot are pretty good and its a futuristic RPG

Kingdom Hearts I and II-My two favorite games, the music, storyline, characters and fighting mechanics are incredible.

Totally depends on what kind of RPG games you like. If you like real-time battle systems, I'd definitely recommend Tales of The Abyss - great game with really good story and brilliant battles. If you're into turn based games, then yeah, look into things like the Suikoden series - I've played 1, 4 and 5. 5 is good, I've heard 3 is awesome, but do, like the others said- avoid 4. It's just nowhere near as good as the others in the series. A few recent games I can think of that you might want to look into: Rogue Galaxy Ar Tonelico Grandia III I can't think of many more just now without going into the Final Fantasy games, or Dragon Quest VIII. But if you haven't played any of them, do. DQ VIII was, in my opinion, the best RPG of last year.

Kingdom Hearts is a pretty fun game, if you like action and adventure on top of RPG. Only thing that might set you back, would be the it involves Disney characters and that it combines with Final Fantasy. If that does not satisfy you, you could go with any of the Lord of the Rings games. They are a WHOLE lot of fun. Trust me. Hope this helps!

Dark Cloud 2, the .hack series and Kingdom Hearts are the first ones that come to mind. Final Fantasy XII also has action based gameplay and is very unlike the other FF games.

Dark cloud and Dark cloud 2 they are long and worthwhile level 5 does a great job with there opening titles. Champions of norath any of the everquest side quests are fun. there are tons of good rpgs for the ps2 more than any other system.

Shadow Hearts 1 and 2 is still my fav RPGs of all time. Best Story line ever! Tho its kinda on the 'dark' side. And the battle wheel thing is retarded at first but you get the hang of it seen enough. There Mature games nothing little kids should play, Might give you nightmares. If your under 17 stick with kiddy games like Kingdom hearts.

Kingdom Hearts iz the best game, 1 and 2. i lik playin Tomb Raider, im playin the 7th right now. iz kinda ez but then again i nevr finished the othr 1's lol.

Disgaea and Disgaea 2.

They're tactical RPG with a very customizable story, funny story, not your avaeage fantast-type RPG which is a refreshing change.

i like the grand theft auto games 3 ,vice city and san andreas pretty good and the red faction games are also good.i use to like the resident evil games to but havent played them in a long time.the hitman games look cool to but i havent played them.im not that big in the rpg's myself either but those would be my suggestions.
