that's not so bad...what is awful is standing in a store w' no one else around but you and this other person that has just walked up...and they start talking so you assume they are talking to you..and yea, you guessed it...cell phone.. or when you think the person that you are with is still behind you so you sorta do a half turn and start talking to them..but they are standing somewhere else and you just asked this total stranger what they think of that pattern in the bedroom and what they want for dinner....man I'm a putz!! feel better now? lol

Yes I hate when that happens, that happened to me the other day, this older lady had her hand up just waving as hard as she could wave, so being nice I waved back, but as it turned out she wasn't waving at me and I hate feeling like a dope

LOL I always wave and wait to see their reaction.
Once a friend and I were crossing a walking bridge and as each car drove by us I waved even though I did not know the people.

Yes. So to avoid that situation, whenever someone waves at me(or so I might think), I usually just smile, which is enough to acknowledge that person, if they ARE waving at me, and to not be noticed (or embarrassed) if they aren't.

Yes I am always waving back. Makes me giggle after I realize it wasn't me they were waving at.

what makes me feel like a dope are these people that have the earpiece for they're cell phone.... they will look right at you, but are talking to someone on their cell... then I answer them and look stupid!!! uuuuugh!!!
