You're welcome. Actually being pro choice is about the choice, not pro abortion. A TRUE pro choicer is one who supports a woman's right to choose ANY option dealing with HER pregnancy and HER body. If you put it into emotional terms you are basically living in a fantasy land because pregnancy is a medical conditon and not an emotional one. If it WERE an emotional condition then we wouldn't have any unwanted children being found dead in dumpsters now would we? There wouldn't be thousands of unwanted children who can't get homes because they're not cute, cuddly infants either. The realistic view is that children are giving birth to children and once that is done the little girl who just gave birth has no idea what to do with that baby. They find out that it's not like having a dolly, human babies actually cry, they have needs and you can't just slam it down in it's crib and expect it to stop crying. That is why there have been so many cases of "shaken baby syndrom" PUBERTY is not a time for a girl to be raising a baby. I look back on my own puberty and it's a good thing I didn't have a baby then because I would have most certainly have strangled the poor thing. And THAT is what REALLY happens. THAT is why young girls toss those infants into dumpsters because they THINK no one will ever know the truth. But someone does...So which is worse aborting a fetus at eight weeks gestation or strangling/shaking/bashing in the skull of a week old infant. And I NEVER said that a fetus was NOT a human life...I said it was NOT a baby/child. Do NOT make a claim that I said something I did not. A fetus IS a life, A zygote IS a life an embryo is a life however they are NOT babies/children. A chicken egg IS life however it is not a chick. And there is NO birth control on the market today that is 100% effective, I'm living proof BOTH of my pregnancies happened when I was on regular birth control, and I NEVER missed taking mine because I took it at the same time every single day. Do you REALLY think a crack head mom is going to remember to take her birth control pill...FANTASY LAND

In my oppinion, a "fetus" is a Baby. From time of conception to delivery. But we all know what is said about oppinions dont we?? But, to me when a women or girl goes out and has unprotected sex fully knowing she can and probably will get pregnant, then turns around and decideds she doesnt want this baby she decideds to have an abortion I think thats wrong. She should have kept her pants up and her shirt tail down is what i was always told. But for a woman or girl to get pregnant from rape-especially incest in that case for both the mothers mental health and the babys overall health i can understand that. Or a woman or girl be on drugs and it be better for the baby i can understand that. So i guess in my mind i could understand if it be under certain circumstances. And alot of u are probably wondering how can she understand? Well i have 2 sisters that had an abortion. 1 because of drugs and the other was only 14 yrs old. And the doctor said she (14 yr old) would probably die!

I skimmed it. Her answer does make a few good points. Basically that a womans right to human autonomy trumps the right to life of a potential person. It's not a new argument at all though and she doesn't follow through with it in a way that I find especailly interesting. I think this girl needs to learn how to use a paragraph too.
There are better forums than yahoo answers for the pro-choice/anti-choice debate. Colleen O isn't it.

I think she's wrong. Human life IS HUMAN life fetus or fully grown man. She forgets about the persons responsibility to make good choices to begin with. Crack heads can take a birth control pill just as easily as we can, as can a teen who is sexually active.
Animals and plants are not the same as people, we all know that. she just splitting hairs with that weak argument.
She is just one of the many cowardly people out there who don't have the guts to take responsibility for their actions.

Unfortunately you are both WRONG,medically and physically, at the moment of conception it becomes a different and unique person with their own DNA and personality.They feel pain and respond to stimulation. They can not become anything other than the human being they are. The sperm of the father combines with the egg of the mother to create a new never before used sequence of chromosomes. You may like to delude yourselves in thinking it is the same as tumor of cancerous cells,but the fact is you are MURDERING a human being as good as putting a loaded gun to a persons head and pulling the trigger.

I am pro life, so I really could care less, however I will add that in the eyes of the law at least here in Michigan a unborn baby does have rights... If a mother to be is killed (post 10 weeks) the killer is charged with 2 counts..not one.

In the first trimester, a woman has a ball of cells in her uterus with the potential of becoming a baby. After that, then there is a serious moral issue.
No one cosiders what happens to an unwanted child, If you demand that a woman go to term with her unwanted baby, put your money where your mouth is and adopt all the unwanted kids. thenyou have the right to speak.
