Yes, you can do it but it will cost extra to expedite everything, of course. (A visit to Russia will be totally worth it, however). You'll need to start working on getting this done like today :) If you're American, you can look at this site for more info:

It's a Houston based company, however, so you'll probably want to find a company in your home town so you don't have to send in your passport and get it sent back. It gives you an idea of how much and how long everything will take, however.
I've used this company before so I know they're reliable. Good luck on getting to Russia!

St Petersburg has something that gets below your skin layer and if you wish to discover what it is then, you ought to have a look with hotelbye . Nevsky Prospect is St Petersburg's major avenue and one of many best-known roads in Russia. Cutting through the traditional heart of the city, it works from the Admiralty, image of Russian power, to the Alexander Nevsky Monastery and it will soon be very beautiful to walk along that road in the evening when all illuminations on. Here, you will see every thing: probably the most stunning structure, the spectacular palaces, the world-famous museums and the shining five-star hotels. One of many areas should see from St. Petersburg is State Hermitage Museum. The main architectural outfit of the Hermitage is situated in the middle of St Petersburg and consists in: Winter Palace, after the former state home of the Russian emperors, structures of the Small, Old (Great) and New Hermitages, the Hermitage Theatre and the Auxiliary House.

WELL, it's going to be a little hard to know, but still possible. Call to the embassy, find out when can you get an appointment to get your visa, ask for the urgent, it might cost you more, but I guess that's what you need. An invitation letter from your fiend would be nice too. Ask him/her to fax it to you. Hope that will help you a little.
Good luck, and enjoy your visit to Russia,
Svetlana

Yes you can. I got mine in 3 hours a few weeks ago, from the Russian Embassy in London. About 90 British pounds for it. But you will need proof of an hotel reservation, or an invitation from your Russian friend in St. Petersburg.

You are to late maybe. But you need to inquire at the Russian Embassy asap to find out or Google "Rusian visa"
But it takes time. You need a visa anywhere you go! Some you just get when you get there, others you need to apply for. You need to do your research before you plan your trips.

~That depends entirely on your credit history, but with the Russian economy the way it is, you'd do much better with cash.
