Can i use this to copy all my music from one computer and then just plug it into a different computer and use it the same? and can i just delete all the music off the original computer and just have it all on the external hard drive?

Your proposal is correct and you can save a lot of space in the primary drive. I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems. Some RAM/ hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful

Yes this is possible. It will transfer faster if you use a firewire... not usb.
