can you hook 2 nintendo DS's up together and play like that?

I heard you can play multi-player games if you hook 2 nintendo DS's up together....you play with someone else...

The answer to this is very simple. You don't need to. Any games that are multiplayer can be played via wireless signals. You don't need wireless Internet to use multiplayer though. If someone else is close enough with a DS, (within 30 feet if memory serves me) you can play against them. Every Nintendo DS is capable of producing signals and sending them to others, because it is a standard feature. What I'm saying is that if you were close enough to use a link cable (like those ones for the GBA) then you'd be close enough to connect wirelessly.

there are several games that allow you to play multiplayer. sometimes they require one DS game chip for each DS, and sometimes you only need one game chip - the game's instructions will tell you if there are multiplayer capabilities, and what you can do

you do not need to buy anything extra, you just need to be close enough that the two [or more] DS systems can connect to each other using signals instead of wires

You don't need to hook them up- you can wirelessly connect multiple DS's to play games or chat.

No. And it isn't necessary. DS's play wireless.
