what is that powder that nba players put on their hands? especially KG and lebron.

Baby powder. It helps with the grip of the ball, specially using the old NBA ball when leather becomes wet and you lose grip easily.

I thought it was chalk but if you ever c the cavs play watch LeBron use it right before tip-off it's kind of a trademark of LeBron. Also watch him a the end of the national anthem, that's trademark 2
