I am Brazilian. I like Zidane's style of play a lot more than I like Ronaldinho. I am not saying Zidane is better... Ronaldinho has more flare, scores more often than Zidane, but Zidane makes his whole team a better team. He dictates the pace of game better than anyone.
But he committed an act of violence that was seen by the whole world. That will be taken in account when it's time to vote.
I think he deserves the world player of the year title just as much as Ronaldo deserved it in 98.
Ronaldo had an excellent 98 world cup. But he was disabled in the last match. in 2006 Zidane led the French to the final and blew it all to hell,so close to the end!!! I don't understand!!!
He surprised me a lot. I think he doesn't deserve the title because of it. Ronaldinho will win! Zidane is still my favorite midfielder ever!

Neither. Henry should win it. Although, he wasn't included in the final three or four. Since he performed well throughout the season and ok in the FIFA finals. Whereas, Zidane only perfomed well in the Finals and not so well in the season. And, Ronaldhino perfomed well in the season and terrible in the finals.
They prolly didn't add Henry since they wouldn't want 2 french players. But, I think the award should go to the player who had a great year throughout the season and not just to a player who was outstanding in a big tournament.
If you want a answer to your question only, then it would be Ronaldhino. Zidane was already awarded with the MVP for his tournament success.
