Feeling confident and satisfied with what you do in your life. To have achieved success in your career. Goals reached, and new goals to reach as life goes on.
Getting married, and having children or even writing a book does not define who you are.
Accomplishment is the key word here, as well as happiness and satisfaction that has to be reevaluated throughout your life.

Personally, by the time i'm 40 my &my husband's dream house will be built and our two nowbabies will have grown up in it. By then i expect to have learned how to drive a huge trailer or18wheeler, how to walk in stilettos, have achieved a degree in business management and launched my restaurant chain, I expect to start traveling with my husband, by then we will have had seen japan, ireland and australia and of course italy, at 40 the biggest acomplishment will be to hear from my children that i have been a great mother and from my husband a good wife. They are my life now, and at 40 i hope i will be everything i wished for.

I want to have accomplished all I've ever wanted to do by age 40. I want to be able to write everyday at a coffee shop. I want to make a living from writing as well. Able to call myself an author. Perhaps found my soul mate by then. Traveled the world.

You should have done enough in your life that you have things you can be proud of... and things that other people think you should be ashamed of.

After that, decide if you are going to be ashamed of them or do them all again and more.

other than that... no benchmarks.
