For me it is someone who goes to a checkout counter and has to put something back or leave because they are short of the money to pay for it. ... Old people who get scared when someone blows their horn at them because they are driving too slow ..... Someone sitting alone at a movie theatre or restaurant .... People on this site in the jokes area, telling a joke only to get a nasty answer from someone .... People who are scared or in the hospital ....

there are many things that cause me to be sad....
......when my dog dies
......when I see others suffering....when I see others expressing their hopelessness and sadness....and I see myself in them, like i can feel their pain
.......it also make me sad to hurt someone. like when I misjudged someone and I say or did something hurtful to him/her then I regret it when Im back to my senses
........it also makes me sad when my thoughts linger on my mistakes, bad experiences & memories....and speak to myself insulting and self-debiliating thoughts.....
.........certain music also make me sad & also movies
anything that reminds me or shows me suffering & hellish inner pain

thank you for talking abou the checkout counter - I was worried that my answer was going to be drivelish, but I was sad the other day because the girl at the counter didn't ask me if I wanted any extras on my food and I forgot to order my favorite extra. MAN I hate when that happens.
I also hate being lonely or when someone who bugs me comes over and makes me wish I were lonely again. It makes me sad.
I miss my first dog. I'm sad about that.
I'm sad about the government.

All that stuff is sad, but not the "Someone sitting alone at a movie theatre or restaurant" because I've done both of those things, but only because I wanted to alone. It didnt mean I was a loser or had no one to come with me. I just wanted to see a movie without stupid interuption and I wanted to just eat at a diner. No big deal.

I am sad when i see all the unhappy children around the world, I'm sad when i see all the greed there is, and I'm sad when i see the rich telling us we should donate more of our money to help others, I'm sad when i see so many people saying how broke they are when they have no idea what they are talking about, as they pay for the next pint of what ever they are drinking, whist there kids go without

The parents of soldiers who are told that there son or daughter has just been killed, as well as the person who has to tell them.... I feel bad for people like that,... Or seeing the family members or children on TV of someone who was just killed like some of the interviews after 9 11 where children were asking if anyone had seen there mom or dad...

what makes me sad... i seeing people killed because of thier ethnicity or religion... like all the middle east and Bosnia. Another thing that makes me sad is when my girlfriend was almost raped... and my mom, who was murdered when I was five... I think seeing people who wonder the street, who talk to themselves, and seem to have no hope really makes me sad. ANd people who automatically assume people from different religious beliefs, beliefs that take a leap of faith to believe even atheism, are wrong and are bad people because they have a different belief. People fighting in war.... for lost causes.... seeing photos from my home country where people struggle to get by... and then seeing people struggle in america, the land of opportunity, just live like the poor of Brazil.

Having to see homeless people roam the streets,especially at this time of year!!if Tony Blair gave more money to Charities than Bush and his wars,then the poor people in the UK could have it a little better.Only yesterday my Wife and i were Christmas Shopping and a young lad asked if we could spare a little change.
My wife looked at me,took out her purse and gave him 20 pounds.
The look on THAT YOUNG LADS FACE
That made me happy

I was very sad when my dog finally died after such a rough sickness with diabetes. I loved him so much. It makes me sad if a relationship ends. I get sad when a loved one dies. I take comfort if they are a Christian because I know I will see them in heaven again some day. It makes me very sad to see someone else who is unhappy. We must try to believe that things will get better.
