Lasair, Lir, and Lalor are the ONLY three traditional Irish names I know that start with L and end in R.
But if it's a more modern one ... it's probably not Irish still.
More modern names (not Irish) would be:
Lamar, Lander, Langer, Latimer, Launder, Lawler, Lazar, Leander, Lear, Leger, Lensar, Lester (or maybe Leicester), Lorimar, Lothair, Lubomir, Luther, and Lysander. And there are a few Welsh ones: Llawr, Llwybyr, Llwyr, and Llyr.
My first guess would be Lamar, even though it's not Irish. My brother-in-law's middle name is Lamar. I might guess Leander next if that's not it.
