Red hair is not the dominate gene so both parents would have to have a red hair gen for the baby to have red hair. That does not mean that both parents have to have red hair. If only one parent has the red hair gene and the other one doesn't then the baby will not have red hair. It would end up in your case with black hair as darker colours are a dominate gene and it only takes one of those.

I don't really know, but I have brown hair and my husband has red hair and our little boy has red hair. But my husband's brother has red hair and he is married to someone with the same color hair as me and they have three children all blonde. But I would say that yours are more likely to have dark hair. Hope that helps in some way.

Dark is usually dominant, but if you carry a recessive gene for red hair, then it is possible. I had dark hair, hubby blonde and we got a red head. My second child also had red hair. They both have out grown it.

it depends on which is the dominant gene and which is the recessive if the recessive is the dominate on although its not likely than the baby could have red hair. In my friends family everyone has brown hair and brown eyes and olive toned skin except one brother who has blonde hair and blue eyes. They figured it out that the genes came from his great-grandfather and it was just a twist of faith that he got them

My friends both have brown hair, one light one dark. Their first born has blond hair and their youngest has bright red hair. You can't really predict these things 100% of the time.

It's possible for the child to have ANY color of hair depending on the genetics of the child's ENTIRE family. Not just the mother and father.
