my friend who is 37 years old had her operation done after the birth of her 3rd child in 2003. now from the past 1 and a 1/2 month her periods have stopped... what could be the possible reason, should she wait for some more time or consult the doctor. Is there a possibility of a 4th child? when does menopause start?

Sweetie she's 37. It may just be regular old menopause. The average woman hits menopause at 40....average. That means they took a big group of women, got everyone's age for when it began, ad got the average number. Not everyone starts at the same time. Some start in their late 30s, some in their early 40s. Early menopause is typically what they call it when it's a woman in her 20s or early 30s. Your friend isn't that far off and yes, she could go in to see her doctor for them to check just to make sure there isn't a problem.

OK now when did she have her child 2003 and she had what kind of operation?? there is a lot of reasons if she is nursing a child it can stop a change in hormones being pregnant is always a possibility. I would grab a home pregnancy test and call the Dr either way but at least you could have a pregnancy answer now...one less thing to worry about :)

Menopause depends on the person.What kind of operation she had? She could be pregnant or has started what is called pre-menopausal syndrome which will be mixed symptoms,like amenorea(absence of menses),flushes and so on.

um, does she feel like she did when she was preganant but isn't?? if she is, she's already started menopause.
