The best and worst thing that ever happened to me are the same. When I was 17 I got involved with the wrong guy. He wound up getting me pregnant and then abusing me and then nearly killing me. While this is the worst thing that could have happened to me it is also the best. Having my daughter made me realize that I had a purpose and that I couldn't allow myself to be treated that way. Being treated that way toughened me up and made me determined to not EVER be held down. At nineteen, I petitioned for, filed, and did all of my own divorce because I couldn't afford a lawyer. I went to the library and would sit HOURS looking at books about state law and how to file legal papers. Not only did I get my divorce, but I also realized that my one true passion in life is to educate other girls about abuse and help them out of their situations. I am now in college working towards a degree in the legal field so that I can dedicate my life to this.

The best thing is that I have 3 great kids, that haven't gotten into trouble and survived the adolescent, teen and so far adult years.
2 beautiful grand kids are the best also.
The worst was the accident I was in 16 yrs ago (of course I survived, so that would be the best also)

At the age of 12 or 13 or so, I became able to think for myself. It was wondrous. Before that, I was extremely influenceable and listened to everything my parents and the media said. Now I'm able to interpret what they say and decide what I believe.
The worst thing that ever happened to me... I don't think there is one. With time, everything blends together.
