(Of course I am referring to Christopher Reeves, who many people consider to be the "only" Superman. And yes, I know that his father played to role before him.)

I watched "Superman Returns" on DVD last night. When I first heard that they were making another Superman movie, I had serious doubts. However, with all due respect to the late Mr Reeves I have to admit that Brandon Routh also plays a very good Superman. I felt he made the character feel more realistic. Such as when he went to Lois' house to watch her through the walls. And Routh didn’t make Kent out as a total weenie like Reeves did. Also I felt the physics of the movie were much more realistic, such as when he tore the wing off the jetliner or the way the nosecone crushed as he caught the front. OK, the part about Lois getting bounced around the plane and not even getting a bruise was bogus, but you gotta admit, anyone that can take a bullet to the eye and not even blink is pretty cool. What is your opinion?

Wow, I have been mistaken for many years on this one (since the first Superman came out), but I researched it and you are right, no relation between George and Christopher. Thanks.

First of all, it's Christopher Reeve, not Reeves, and George Reeves is NOT Christopher Reeve's father.

Brandon Routh made a great Superman. I still think of Christopher Reeve as the definitive Superman. I liked his Clark Kent. Routh has a little different take on Clark and Superman, but I liked both.

I was disappointed in the movie. Everything seemed pale and colorless. The "twist" struck me as implausible and distasteful. (I would be more specific, but I don't want to spoil any surprises for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.) I thought the acting was ok but not great (which I therefore blame on the director), although I felt Kevin Spacey didn't work as Lex Luthor. I enjoyed Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane, though.

For the record, Christopher Reeve (not Reeves) played Superman in the movies from the '70s and '80s. George Reeves (not Reeve, and therefore not Christopher's father) played Superman in the 1950s television series. I consider them both better "Men of Steel" than Brandon Routh.

First of all... George Reeves was not the father of Christopher Reeve. Notice their last names are different.

I thought Brandon did a great job of playing Christopher. I sometimes felt like I was still watching the old Superman. I think Brandon is a lot better looking, but he seemed to be copying the mannerisms and everything about Christopher. Kinda weird, but he did the part justice.

The job Brandon did with the role was well played. My problem with the movie was the writting. I honestly couldn't stand the direction the movie went. The acting, the visuals were all on point.

I thought it would suck, but when I saw it, I was amazed at how great he acted. It was almost shocking. The movie was just great. I think, even if you have no interest in Superman or comics or anything like that, you'll love the movie. It's that good.

I thought the movie was really boring. Nothing happened till the last 45 mins of the movie!
