That is awful.
Whatever happened to manners? I don't yell at anyone in public, let alone someone I don't know.

I work in retail and have to deal with angry customers constantly. I've even had customers so mad at me because I wouldn't give into their outrageous demands that they were threatening to sue the company. All you can do is bite your tongue, and ignore the customer. If it gets too bad sometimes you just need to walk away for a minute- employers will understand because it's better to do that than to anger the customer even more by saying something you shouldn't. Tell her just to be patient, no matter where you work you're going to get people yelling at you for one thing or another.

In a humane, civilized world of tolerant people - no. In the high stress world where everyone is two hours late and two dollars short, yelling at the defenseless is considered part of what they are purchasing. They have no idea how to reach upper management, do not want to take the time to speak with floor management, so they pay their money to scream at the most vulnerable person.

Having worked in the customer service industry you come to realise that being the employee you are the first person an angry customer sees and most times they will vent on you, what she needs to learn is to let it go and forget about it, make it look like you are listening to the customer when she is complaining because if you look unintersted this will only make them more angry, a customer always likes it when someone listens to them so do that, and when she leaves forget about her. thats the only way you will get through the day.

usually new employees get a trainee sign and and it is posted on the employee and one on the belt/line..
the manager or superviser usually watches what goes on..and if any customers misbehave..the manager takes them aside and clearly states..you knew this was a training line..
and an apology is expected
when you scan your own groceries.. you can appreciate how hard that job is..
it is therefore the managements ..not looking out for trainees
also trainees could work on slower days..as tues. morning..etc
she should mention this to the manager.

It's not supposed to happen but it does especially around the holidays. People are more frustrated these days and take it out on other people. If your sister is having second thoughts I don't blame her, it's ultimately her decision but the more jobs she has on her resume the more it's going to look like she bounces from job to job with no loyalties to the job, employers aren't too fond of that.

that's lifelike for the guy to think of that she could be working if she substitute into donning her uniform and in the conventional public area of the save. From his attitude it may ok have gave the effect of she substitute into having a communicate with you while she substitute into meant to be working. I agree that per probability the region wasn't handled accurately, yet sooner or later per probability your pal ought to keep away from this by employing donning a jacket over her uniform or changing her shirt or something so human beings won't mistake her for on duty. If that guy concept she substitute into heading off artwork he could no longer have been the only shopper who concept so, and that could have harm the save's acceptance. i think of it substitute into incredibly stressful of the guy to invite your pal to take him to the item. per probability if somebody asks your pal a query at an identical time as she is off the clock lower back, she will say something like, "i'm sorry sir, i'm no longer working right here, i'm a shopper. i could be happy to take you to the front of the save the place a save worker can help you." yet certainly, even that would mirror badly on the save if she's in uniform. greater valuable to no longer seem to be in uniform, and then there will be much less of a doubt.

Wow, just sounds like a bad day with stupid people. From what you said, your sister did everything right. Tell her to go for the cashier position, she'll do fine.
