Write in a journal (if the roads aren't too bumpy), listen to music, call people on a cell phone, make stops every few hours to use the bathroom and buy food and drinks, stuff like that. Make a list of things to buy right before the trip (the night before or the day you leave) such as magazines, activity books (the ones with crossword puzzles and riddles in them), or those $5 hand held games.

Sleep as much as possible, listen to talking books. I drove 3600 miles with my family and once they got into Black House by Stephen King and Peter Straub I couldn't keep them out of the car. In later 3000 mile trips we listened to the Gunslinger series. It got to the point where we were cutting short stops to get back to the story. Mr King is a heck of a writer.

i've gone on a two day car ride and the best thing to do is get a portable dvd player if ur car doesnt already have it , take a lot of ur favorite cd's or mp3, talk on your cell phone, or catch up on sleep!!!
