I own a G6 and used to sell them. They are great cars with lost of options. Mine used to be a rental car aka program car on a car lot. I bought it with 13,000 miles on it so it had been driven hard i can be sure. I am a traveling salesman now and have more than twice that on it and you don't even notice. It has great acceleration and lots of handy options if you are in a car for several hours.
Now concerning gas mileage it is good on gas. They have a monitor on most models that actually tells you your gas mileage and what your averagee speed is. you should reset it every time you want to drive somewhere to get the best results but my averag gas mileage is 31 mpg on most highway trips i make. and 24-25 in most cities.

The 3.5 l v6 is the same as the Chevy Malibu and a couple other GM cars and none have reported any problems so far. They have had a couple of recalls but nothing to worry about.

The car is very nice, good on gas and have yet to have any type of problem in the engine, However there is one problem that I have found !!!! windsheild wipers !!!!! They cost a alot to replace and have found nobody but the dealer that carries them. They cost anywhere from 19.99 to almost 30 dollars.
