i have a microwavable bean pack that i put on my uterus area...
sometimes its so hot it burns, but i focus more on the burning than the cramps.
or you could try exercise...
or even trying to fall asleep.
if you find a position thats comfortable, and can fall asleep, thats good cuz if you sleep long enough youll usually wake up and theyll be gone.

If you have a heating pad or hot water bottle that will help. Plus, don't drink anything really cold, it makes them much worse. Get some hot tea, hot chocolate, anything hot and it may help ease them up. Something you can do to keep them from being as bad is check out this website http://phifoundation.org/menses.html . It honestly works, I swear. My sister and I had both been on prescription pain killers since we were teenagers until we found out about this and tried it out. I rarely even have to take anything for my cramps now and all you do is eat differently.....that's it.

Well, you didn't say where you're cramping, if there's any particular cause for them that you may be aware of, so I'll keep my answer general.
Magnesium and calcium supplements will relax your muscles considerably, as will a nice warm bath. If you have them, add some epsom salts (magnesium) to the water and have a good soak.
If you cramp up quite often, you may have mineral deficiencies, among other things. My naturopath helped me with my terrible cramps, and they haven't come back in three years.

If you don't have a hot water bottle, you can heat up a wet washcloth on a plate in the microwave for a minute or two. It will be hot so be careful picking it up and you probably don't want to put it directly on your skin, so put it inside a ziploc bag. If it's still too hot, put it on your stomach (or wherever it hurts) above your clothes. This usually works well for me.

try a warm bath with some peppermint or valender essential oils to let your body relax. Drink some hot teas, or hot chocolate maybe. And curl up around your pillows and try a heating pad on your tummy or on the bottems of your feet.

I used to have horrible cramps (like really bad) and i would put a heating pad on it and if it got really bad, i would crawl into the fetal position (lay on the floor with your knees almost touching your head) but thats only if it gets really bad because you look weird lol.

Relief can come from applying warm compresses, or a hot water bottle. Light exercise or walking can give relief if you are up to it.
