I have been wondering the same thing myself. Its almost like the Politicians want America Ruined-

As American Companies source everything out and think they will be the innovators,America will become a 3rd world Country. So maybe the big Companies will do well but for the thousands of regular workers will be in poverty-

Can you imagine the whole nation being wiped out of jobs just like Hurricane Katrina wiped out New Orleans?

Whats the Governments plan then? Will it be the same as how they responded to hurricane Katrina- Will all the unempolyed who had their job shipped to India, get a debit card and a Fema trailer?

The bank says they have to keep the investors happy, however every American lives beyond their means. Even people who have welfare seem to get credit cards. What are the banks gonna do when over 3/4 of the USA goes bankerupt? I wonder what the investors wil say then-

Its like a new type of Great Depression is coming just like it did in the 1920's and no one sees it comming-

As much as I detest American culture I imagine the think tanks are already at work redefining the methods by which America retains power in many area's. No doubt the Americans will find a way of controlling the resources the Chinese want. They have not been at the forefront of consumer spending by accident for decades, and the same goes with arms sales. Just take a look at their oil consumption. Why do you think OPEC don't push the price of oil through the roof when the Americans depend on it. Simple because they would stop buying and look else where for another energy. Don't you wonder why George Bush has just done a back flip on who is new right hand man is??? Nothing is a coincidence in America.

Nothing until they develope better markets elsewhere and the USA is no longer important to them as a market, an investment in our treasuries, or source of food. Basically (and Kyodo will make it worse because it punishes the USA and lets China and India and others do what they want) the USA is apt to be reduced to a clony status, merely exporting raw materials. We need to stop scrapping our industries and heavy equipment, stop losing voicational skills, because thehigh tech world is a house of cards and one that can be moved to any other part of the globe. Only government jobs are secure, and that is if the don't devalue the currency (worse than now) by printing more than they have revenue and collateral to back it up. In otherwords, the USA could be forced into liquidating certain assets, all the while we forgive foreign debts of other nations, or have little hope of being repaid. We might better give the IOU from Russia to China, and let China collect what Russia owes us. When the USA can no longer afford to distribute food and aid to the rest of the world, they will hate us even worse, then China can step in. The idea of America, which acheived greatness and leadership, by giving it all up, is just plain stupid. We need to discard arbitray zoning, regulations and taxes that kill small businesses, because growth in the business sector is primarily from small businesses. The cost of global transportation will allow them to compete if bureaucrats aren't trying to shut them down, demand a kickback, or that the only operate at certain locations (IDA approved industrial parks, etc.). Let future Microsofts begin in the garage, not outlaw them. Destroying freemarket economies always has the same inevitable result, FAILURE.

Exactly what american businesses intend. IBM is a good example of this, they are switching there main focus to support instead of manufacturing. American companies that already have good product lines don't see the necessity in having to do everything themselves. Let someone else maintain all the necessities of manufacturing. We'll retain all of the innovation behind these products, keep our workforces low, and save money in the long run with cheaper labor in other countries.

They're not going to control all the manufacturing. There will always be reasons to manufacture goods in local markets, which is why there is still plenty of manufacturing occurring in the US, with new plants being built in various industries all the time.

Just because there are factories in China doesn't mean the US hasn't lost its control of its manufacturing. The US owns the patents and still maufactures in niche high-tech areas.

Just because nobody in the US makes clothes anymore doesn't mean there aren't any fashion designers.

Why is this an issue for you anyway? Is it your life's ambition to be a factory worker while paying twice as much for manufactured goods?

american businesses are shrewd. They are good at re-inventing. They will come up with a solution such that manufacturing wouldnt matter.
Amercan government is pro-business. It will help using whatever means are necessary, including military intervention.
