In unity, of course. We are very used to the reductive paradigm, so we think of everything as exclusive from one another. Simple is just a relationship with complex, and visceversa. If we appreciate the whole scene, it'll be more appealing than just trying to distinguish what's black and white; simple and complex.

simplicity and complexity are the two faces f the same coin. Something complex only seems complex when the solution is not evident. When the solution is exposed or learnt it becomes simple. Simplicity only seems simple until the means of its arrival is explained. Then its complexity is becomes evident. So I think that beauty is in all things since it is in understanding that the real beauty is seen.

Subtlety. The more complex a thing of beauty, subtlety will whisper it into a brief and fine texture of perception, hard put to be forgotten. So simplicity may serve complexity when it comes to perceiving beauty and may compel one to pursue the detail in the simple beauty of a thing.

Simplicity. I'm a theatre major, and I always am able to find much more beauty in plays with very simple sets and costumes than in big extravaganzas. It allows the script to speak for itself, sans distractions.

Both :) Usually in simplicity though.

When it comes to design and visuals in general, simplicity almost always wins in my books.

When it comes to concepts, I'm always in love with ideas that are so simple that they're brilliant.

Aren't they the same? I know people who seem simplistic and have complex minds that is what makes them beautiful to be with. On the other hand I have known complex people who have very little common sense, so they become annoying which in itself can ruin beauty..
