Like beyond the going to school and getting a job bit. Is 'education' over-rated and that is why there is so little common sense in the world? Or in the UK at least ...
I'm putting it in general cause i'm not feeling very philosophical. And definitly having one of those "Answers on a postcard please" days too :-)

there was a time when it was pure and it was simple. You went off to college to further your education. When you got there, they shared knowledge with you, pure and honest knowledge.

Now days, you have a bunch of fools who sound brilliant but they don't share pure honest knowledge, they fill students minds with their own political views. Their mission is to fill the world with people who share their idealism. I think students are getting ripped off at big price tag$. Tell the liberals to take a hike and stick to sharing knowledge, no idealism (theirs)!

Yes it can be over-rated. Some people go to college yet are stupid as rocks. Yet they get high paying jobs. While people working under them might have never attended college and can do much more then the person who went to college. Yet get paid 3 times less or more.

Any learning experience.

My first four-year degree was a complete waste of time. I could have learned the necessary skills in six months of classroom training (if that) and I learned more in the first six months on the job than in the previous four years combined.

Even my second degree is worth only the line on my resume that says I was able to complete it. Each job is different.

I do not know. It seems that the people who have the so called higher educations oft times have little or no common sense.
