its not a disease, i believe its more that they do not understand how they feel so they think its unatural, homophobia i believe is caused because they have a closed mind of the subject.
Being a straight i do not have anything against the gay community, everyone has a right to express how they feel for someone else of the same or opposite sex, maybe the people out there that do not believe this should really have a look at what century we are living in, its happening and there is really nothing anyone can do about it, whether it be in public or behind closed doors it will happen and people need to understand this. You need to remember that they are people to and like everyone else they feel.

I dont believe Homophobia is a Desease. because if we lived in a Society that didnt think Homosexuality was a bad thing, then their would be no Homophobia. Homophobes come from society, because in every aspect of society, it is thought that to be Gay/Lesbian/Trangendered is a Fault, flaw, sin, aberation, deviency... and those are Oppinons, not mental abnormalities, theyre beliefs proliferated thru generations..... So like i said, how can it be a desease, when it has no pathology in science. Homophobia is a social issue... if society werent homophobic, there would be no homophobes.

I don't know if homophobia is actually a disease. I do however feel it is a psychological disorder. People that display intense fear of homosexuality will counteract the fear by replacing it with hate, hate crimes and judgmental or cruel comments towards gays. I do feel that it is a gender insecurity that is at the basis of this disorder.

I dont think homophobia is a disease per-say. I just think its something people are afraid to be around. I get people that say they will catch gay tendencies from me. They dont realize that everyone is a little gay in their own way like it or not. If the people were educated they would know not to be afraid of gays/bisexuals.

No. People are not responsible for their behaviour when they are 'sick'. Homophobes should be made to be accountable for their bigotry at all times. Homophobia is a convenient construct, not a disease.

Straight men hate gay men because they are afraid that if we successfully seduce them that they'll actually enjoy the experience. Homophobia is a neurotic fear of enjoying having 'gay' sex. It's that simple.

I dont think its a disease because honestly if you look at statistics the most severe cases of homophobia are closet homosexuals.

i suppose it might be, but straight people who do not agree with homosexuality should never be labeled as such. It doesn't mean they are uneducated or scared of things they don't know about. It's just a simple disagreement. I hate the fact that people who aren't gay or disabled, or whatever else is special in this country is looked down upon. now THAT is what is sad.

It is not a disease, but a prejudice. Some white people are prejudiced against black people and some black people are prejudiced against white people; some Christian people are prejudiced against non-Christians, and some non-Christians are prejudiced against Christians. Some people prefer to paint people who are different from themselves with a broad brush and label them as being someone that they do not want to know or have any interaction with. These people live their lives being closed off from other people who could enrich their lives and make their lives better, but prefer to only associate themselves with people with the same prejudices and ultimately close themselves off to the rest of the world.
