I have given such advice from time to time, and it is not an indication of brilliancy -- it is simply a recognition that I am not a medical specialist, and there are many conditions that can have several causes and only a doctor who is actually performing an examination can sort them out. On occasion, people have posted questions regarding symptoms that potentially obtain from life-threatening conditions, and you'd better believe that I am going to send the questioner to the doctor.

Why?, Because some of us have heard of some of these symptons and some of us have actually gone through some of this ****. And it would be unproper of us to give an opinion, even though we are pretty sure of what it is, by the vague questions that we are asked. You don't want to fool around with someone's health.

I'm not a doctor, so if a guys asks "Is blood in my urine bad?"
no one here is honestly qualified to diagnose that symption..
They shouldn;t cut the corner; instead, they go to the doctor to get the proper diagnosis

because they don't think that was the first thing that we thought of doing. that we just want to double check some things first before we go and pay lots of money to find out that nothing is wrong with is.
