Absolutely. Deepak Chopra MD says that stress is the cause of all of sickness.
Need to find ways to de-stress you will definately be happier and healthier. Try some herbal teas, yoga, learn to breathe deep and relax. Get a good nights sleep. Find some alternative therapies like massage or supplements.
Good luck.

It's not a question of can it, it will be harmful to your body. It manifests itself differently in different people. Some have high blood pressure, some have problems going to the bathroom and end up with colon illnesses; some develop depression, some have their thyroid go whacko which throws off all your other hormone systems. It can lower your immune system, prevent your body from absorbing nutrients, you name it. And stress just doesn't feel good. There are lots of ways to reduce stress, most of which don't involve drugs or doctors or cost any money. Take 30 minutes a day to do something you enjoy, something just for you. Watch a sunset, take a walk, do some yoga (you can get video instruction if you can't afford a class. Check out the YMCA in your area. They charge based on your income.) Do something artistic, whatever gets your mind off of your stressors and into something enjoyable.

Yes. I have chronic back pain. I am 46 years old and did a lot of stuffing my emotions and thinking, worrying and stressing about things. And I've just come to realize that alot of that stuff, I should have just left it in the Lord's hands. It has affected my breathing patterns and created muscle tension that manifested itself in my mid/lower back. I've had x-rays from head to toe and no "physical" damage can be found. I've recently started going to a chiropractor and that has helped a lot. Also at one time I was studying to become a massage therapist which gave me a lot of insight to stress release. You may benefit from massage therapy or an excercise routine or meditation to help release the stress. My 2 current mantras are "don't pick it up" meaning the worry or stress about a situation, and "put it down" you've carried it too long and not been able to do anything about it in it's current form.
I hope this helps.

YES!! Stress causes an increase in Adrenalin in the body, this is also called "fight or flight" response. Being in this state constantly can be damaging to the body in a variety of ways. Firstly, it decreases immunity, increases blood pressure, increases pulse, which in turn may put unnecessary pressure on the blood vessels and the heart. In relation to immunity, being under stress decreases the efficiency of the immunity, therefore, it is common to catch colds, flu or even develop cold sores in times of stress. So, it is very important to keep stress levels at bay :)

Constant stress undoubtedly has a negative effect on the body, and it affects every part of the body, too, from your skin to your brain, and everything in between. It can manifest as anything, like skin problems, depression, panic attacks, digestive disorders, immune suppression. The list is endless.
People, especially people here on Answers, pooh-pooh things like learning relaxation techniques and other ways to handle stress, but they are absolutely essential to good health.
Don't end up like me (severe post-natal depression, bordering on psychosis, for four and a half years and counting.) Do something about it now.
Best of luck.

Yep, stress can cause you to lose or gain weight (which can be unhealthy) and give you heart, liver and kidney problems. It can cause insomnia, depression and anxiety. Not to mention that it'll mess with your periods and even your hormone levels.
Stress is bad, and you need to take time off to relax and exercise. Be sure to eat good, healthy food, and drink lots of water. A multivitamin wouldn't go amiss if you're missing meals or not eating as well as you should be.
Good luck!

Yeah, stress can be pretty bad for you. Your blood pressure goes up, which can damage your heart, your hair can fall out, all sorts of problems. Chill out, and try to eliminate the stressful things in your life, or work out ways to make them less stressful.

Too much stress also disrupts your monthly period, gradually your focus on your work will narrow and you will mistakes or suddenly snap at someone for the slightest problem.
