Need Help with Music Video from the 80's!!!?

Question

I swear I saw this music video from the 80's but I don't remember the song or who sang it.

When the video starts, it has a boy and a girl in it. They are both friends but she moves away and he is upset. The boy and girl grows up and he is kinda nerdy. He ends up seeing her again somewhere maybe at a party but he gets thrown into a pool.

I have no idea if this is a video from the 80's or not or just my imagination. Please help...

It's the Beach Boys - Getcha Back. He ends up with the girl in the end. But he is geeky and she is really pretty.
