Mostly by accepting them the way they are. Your friends have warts, they have morning breath, they stumble, they drop things...and the say and do things that you might find awkward. Accept them. They are all doing the best they can. Recognize that. And listen to them. When they talk it is because they believe they have something important to say. Honor their evaluation. Accept what they have to say without judgment. You don't have to take their words to heart and live as they might suggest. You live your own life. But allow your friends to live theirs. So honor them, respect them, and insist upon receiving honor and respect yourself. If you love yourself you will be open to loving others. Remember, if you live in love those around you will love you as you love them.

I try to call as often as I can for those who are out of town. And for those here,where I live I also call.But, I like to cook,.so I sometimes make things and take it to them. Or if I am out an about and I see some little something they would like, I get that for them. Then I always hug and kiss checks. I am a big hugger. I try to be sensitive to their feelings and be honest with them. And, if I ever offend or hurt them, I apologize. Peace.

family-just say "i love u" and give em a hug.
boyfriend/girlfriend-same and kiss them( be physically affectionate to them so they know u still like them)
