I just finished a 5 page paper in Microsoft Word, 2003. I went to save it and got the message ACCESS DENIED, YOU DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO DO THIS, WHAT? It is my home computer, what do I do?

Its not a stupid question at all.
This is an error that may be caused by trying to write to a wirte protected disk.
Try saving to another drive first, then copy the file to the location where you want to save it.
If its a flash drive or memory stick, check to make sure its not write protected.

do you have other accounts on your computer? If so, you probably will have to change the settings in the control pannel (usually one account is the "main" account with the most ability). Or, you could save it as a different file?

Try to save the paper in another location, such as the my documents folder. You can browse folders in the save as dialog.

If you can't save it anywhere, you can at least try printing it, or sending it as an email attachment.

Try this? Did you create a password secured document? If so, you'll have to try and remember the password to access the document.
