You have to be 18 sometimes 21 depending on the hotel policy. You can, however, get a parent or an adult to call ahead and reserve a room for you by paying with their credit card over the phone. My sister had to do this once when her and some friends were headed for down to Florida to babysit teacher's kids while they went to a conference. My sister decided to break the trip into two days but could not find a place that would allow her to get a hotel room. (she was 18). So my mom called and reserved a room. I hope this will work for you. Have fun but not too much fun!

Most hotels will not rent to a group of kids, even if the oldest is 18.

I do not believe there is any law that specifices an age, but each hotel or motel probably has a policy, and most of them probably are hesitant to rent to under-18s without guaranteed payment and perhaps additional returnable deposit against possible room damage.

In general, you have to be at least 18 so you can use a credit card. Some places require you to be 21, for their own protection. Also, this isn't going to be just MA policy, you'll find this wherever you go.
