this is a difficult one. on paper they are evenly matched, but portugal have the upper hand with recent games played between them. to find out who is the best check out the FIFA world rankings.

You may have the best league but your league is made up of superstars from other countries. Just because Henry, Shevchencko, Ballack, and a whole boatload of superstars play in your league it doesn't mean your national team is the best. That argument is flawed but I do believe England is the better team due to the fact that they played their worst football match against portugal in the World Cup and still forced it into penalty kicks without beckham leading the charge and building them momentum. Knock out the old guys like lampard and the not so talented crouch and build a fast young striking line with rooney and possible aaron lenon and you are looking at a very very powerful team.

Portugal, during their World Cup match against England they clearly dominated the game. Portugal has much more skill than England does and therefore the better national team is Portugal.

Portugal eventhough the golden generation is gone their players are more skilled than england´s, i know england fans alway talk about their skill level but as always its just talk where is beckham ? didn´t they call him the best player in the world oh yea... he is warming up Real Madrid´s bench but hey he is still as pretty as ever
