This is not about me, it's about my dad. I feel like he enjoys the self pity and wants my family and I to feel sorry for him. He tells us that we make his life miserable, and he just told my mother that he has been miserable since they got married. I do not believe this is true. Nothing anyone does makes him happy, and the fact is, he is doing this to himself. It is affecting the family a great deal, and I do not know what to do about it. It is very complicated to explain, but he is pretty much the typical verbal/mentally abusive person.

Sadomasacistic. Sadomasacis. I can't spell. They usually decide to start hurting themselves for fun.

Someone could also have low self esteem,..

... or be Boarder-Line Personality Disorder (they struggle with that other people and things have emotions and senses. They can become miserable when they find out others have apathy, sympathy, and even empathy,.. while they only can feel for themselves.)

Added: Oh that is a bad sign. Check if he has Manic Depression or anything like that. Things like this turn into an outburst like " I'M GAY! Your female parts make me sick." Maybe he could use people to talk to. Or someone to talk to. His own computer online could do him some good if you don't want him near any Psych or anything.

He sounds like a deeply depressed person completely self-absorbed. I'm very sorry for all of you and for him too. It can't be much fun living inside of his head either.

Depression. He needs help and is attempting to seek it inadvertantly by lashing out at the family. I would reccomend he see someone soon to get to the bottom of what's really going on with him.
