Are you conscious of the environmental track records of companies whose products fill the supermarket shelves etc, and do you shop according to your feelings about them, or do you just get what's cheap and be damned?

=all the wasted money spent on commercials and advertising drives me crazy. I deliberately will not buy from that company who is wasting money on such instead of giving us fair prices. These items are generally at eye level in the grocery store and the better values way on the bottom shelf or top shelf. Some folks think the fancy packaging and the higher price is of better quality, but this is not necessarily so. Most of the store brands are of equal quality even if you have to spice it up a bit.

Yes to the first question.
Sometimes to the second. It depends on the difference in price & what the item is. It's easier to look some where else for say clothing than it is for grocery items.
As a pensioner I can't always afford to pay the dearer price.
