Ok, Mount Diablo is not a good place to sledd, and Tahoe is way to broad an answer, how about a nice spot on the way to Tahoe, I dont want to get lost in the mountains like the Kims, that would suck!!!

Try Mount Diablo in Walnut Creek area. 28 miles east of SF. But only gets snow if the snow levels get below 5,000 feet. Otherwise, Tahoe area is your best bet.

addition to post:

try up near boreal ski resort....off highway 80. first resort you come to in the tahoe area. donner lake always used to have sleddign when I was a kid. Otherwise there is a sledding place at Northstar near truckee or just outside Tahoe City.

Head up to Tahoe, if there are places to sled on the way there then stop when you hit snow. Make sure you don't go in some really secluded area and get lost though. As long as you stick to main roads to Tahoe, you won't get lost in the wilderness.

There are lots of snow parks on the way to Tahoe. That's what I did with my 2 year old who wanted to "go to the snow, mommy." We just headed towards Tahoe and followed the snow park signs. They are usually near the ski resorts.

Check with vets in the area. Also, check for reputable breeders on the AKC website. Pups that will be ready by mid July should already be advertised. A good breeder will expect you to see the litter and sire, dam. Good luck!
