"XMAS" is not exactly disrespectful, if you consider its origins.
This abbreviation for Christmas is of Greek origin. The word for Christ in Greek is Xristos. During the 16th century, Europeans began using the first initial of Christ's name, "X" in place of the word Christ in Christmas as a shorthand form of the word. Although the early Christians understood that X stood for Christ's name, later Christians who did not understand the Greek language mistook "Xmas" as a sign of disrespect.
With that in mind, Merry Xristos

Lots of people say that xmas is a way of "removing" christ from christmas, and trying to make it a secular holiday that has nothing to do with religion. In reality, the word "xmas" comes from the Greek letter Chi, (which is written as X), which was used in the old days to represent the word Christ.

Sometimes the X for Christ is used on religious forums to make the typing easier. It is usually understood that X=christ in short typing, when I read X-mas I read it as Christmas, same with Xian (Christian) and Xianity, I automatically substitute christ when I see the word shortened in type. It really isn't a disrespect toward Christ, just a form of shorthand similar to BTW, LOL, G2G, Gr8, L8er, 2morrow... etc.

the common misconception is that xmas is just x-ing out "christ." the truth is that the greek for christ -- xristos -- is where the word for christ came from, and in the greek language, it starts with the letter that looks like an X.
So, to shorten it, it was x-mas.

Oh my. Um "Xmas = Christmas." Exmas has nothing to do with Christmas. Its NOT Even close. That is why in the world people are not saying exmas. Because they are not even related.
