We have a child in kindergarten, so we are new to this. How do you handle Christmas presents for the teacher and the teacher's assistant? Do you get them the same gift, or do you spend more on the teacher?

If it's a gift card you should probably give the same amount, in fact if you plan to get them things that you could compare at all the cost should be similar, I don't think anyone will be offended that someone got a gift of equal value to theirs, just odn't spend MORE money on the aid if it is noticeable. Another tateful idea everyone would enjoy is if you got something like a gift certifice to a nice store(like a bookstore or something), and you baked the aide some sort of confectionary(like banana bread, or bunt cake or something).

Being a teacher myself, I think it would be kind of awkward to receive the same gift as my assistant, unless it's a gift card. On the other hand, it's not the amount of money spent that is the issue.....teachers love anything they receive from their students, and so do the assistants. If you want to play it safe, give something personally hand drawn or handmade by your child. Those kinds of gifts are the best because they don't cost much, yet they are PRICELESS in the eyes of a teacher and/or assistant.

as with any gift giving, the thought behind the gift is what counts, not the price tag. if it is a really good idea, give them both the same thing. if it is not, probably neither really want it. there is nothing that says you have to get them anything, but what about some homemade treats, or something useful...many teachers use part of their salaries to keep the class supplied...so you could give them a gift card to a supply store, or just get some supplies they would go through a lot of...it will benefit them and all the kids...including yours. don't stress over gifts...if you do, you are missing the point of the season! it really should be a season of joy! Merry Christmas!

I personally think you should spend a lot more on the teacher, because the teacher does a lot more work. She plans all the lessons, teaches all the lessons, and grades all the papers. Teaching assistants leave at the end of the day - teachers have meetings etc . . . plus all the work they do at home. They also give extra help to those who need it, manage the classroom, do lunch duty, bus duty etc . . . and trust me, if there is a problem with a child, they take those problems home with them, too. Many also spend their own money on supplies and extra materials that they feel are needed to give your child the best experience they can possibly have.

given which you're asking what we'd do, no longer inevitably what we'd advise somebody to do, i will pass the 1st path. I even have an exceedingly remarkable, unorganized, severe strung newborn. we live 4 blocks from college. it is common for me to return abode a minimum of as quickly as during the week for a e book, document, musical tool, or activities uniform. perhaps i'm no longer coaching her duty and allowing her to believe in me too plenty. although, i'm a stay at a house mom and it does not interrupt my ordinary in any thank you to pass back abode with a view to p.c.. up something she has forgotten. If I worked outdoors the abode and replaced into on somebody else's time time table, i does no longer be as available.

The best thing to do is give your childs teacher things they can use in the class room ,Most teachers have to buy their own supplies because of budget cuts .Think of things like books , sharpies, coloring books. I have found that most teachers appreciate useful things!

You can get them the same thing , such as a tree ornament or a small gift. Its the thought that counts.

You should get them each a separate gift. It's difficult for two people to share one gift, and each deserves distinct recognition.
