its funny to read some comments from our north american Posters.. apparently they all seem to think ALL cricket matches last 5 Days lol, Which is kinda funny.. Poor guys dont seem to know much about the game, Personally i think they should all do some online research about 'Test Cricket', 'One-Day Cricket' and a '20/Twenty Cricket' (Each Game has different Rules and Regulations).
i was wondering is this the biggest misconception when it comes to Cricket?

the biggest misconception when it comes to Cricket is that ts a boring game where people just go out with their stick to smack balls thrown by the other team members just like baseball but what makes it boring is the fact that unlike baseball, here game goes on for hours without powerful hits due to unknown reasons.
Not realizing that its not just about hitting big hits/shots, it also requires skill and patience not that it lacks powerful shots. When balls are hit well, the stay hit and covers further miles than baseball.

"It's boring" is the biggest - true it's a slow game but it is that sort of game, slow and deliberate. But to those who know, it's got its own grace and beauty.
As an American, I only watch sporadically (although I watched the Ashes last year when I was in Scotland and part of this current test)and some of the commentary, well, it may have been spoken in Mongolian. But imagine this commentary about baseball:
"Well, it looks like a Texas leaguer, just a can of corn out there. The left fielder basket catches it and ...Wait! Jones on third is gonna swipe home, he's tagging and headed for the plate! Here's the throw, cut off by the hot corner man and pegged to the catcher! Jones slides and get in under the tag! Safe! the umpire yells! Oh we're gonna have a rhubarb now!"
So ducks and maidens and overs and LBW and leg spinners are still a mystery to us... But it's still a fine game.

hi guy.dont be so orthodox If u placed a lot regulations on a bowler then cricket will replace right into a pastime of batsman only. each and each and every wealthy individual bowler has some unique form. Like Shoab and murali. How u can anticipate 60-80degree turn of a delivery at the same time as u dont allowing ur wrist to bypass no extra that 7-12degree. Bishan Bingh Sedi is a previous now and MURLI is our recent. BS Bedi replace into now no longer doing all that what murli is doing now... thats why BS Bedi replace into now no longer as valuable as Murali is.. No no,i'm now no longer a srilankan.... i'm an indian, Proud Indian. yet it extremely is truth that what Murali is doing is basically to take wickets and shall we favor to continually get excitement from this. by utilizing the way.. Khali fairly rulzz. yet ye sale WWE wale next rumble me Batista se use jaroor harwayenge. Sale restore karte hain tournament.KHALI indian hai isi liye jyadadin use champion nahi rahne denge sale. Fcuk off persons God Bless INDIANS

The biggest misconception about cricket is that you would think your "North American" friends would care enough to do research on the game:) Just thought I'd wander over here to see if you had anything interesting. Don't worry I'm going back to my baseball and NASCAR sites. I'm a true blooded U.S. of A. girl.

misconception is that it is boring , it is not . ask the ones who play it . who would have thought south africa would beat australia by chasing 400 . it is about the teams , cricket is not predictable its as simple as anything . the one who plays well on a certain day wins.

I always thought is was very cruel to hit the little guys (and gals)with sticks...all they ever did was make noise in the woods during the summer...They don't hurt anyone. I mean, unless there is a huge swarm threatening to devour your soul, the game is just wrong... It makes me angry that the English are so heartless.
