Take some little gift boxes, place notes inside that designate something for that person to do, ie: sing Silent Night, Share their best Christmas memory, Share a story about someone in the room, Pick a partner and act out a Christmas story or song, etc. Make up thing that pertain to your family. Let each one pick a present. They will have no idea what is about to happen, but make it fun so that everyone can participate. Tell them to expect the little Christmas boxes to a tradition from now on. YOur family can enjoy laughs and tears together.

Perhaps after dinner have everyone sing. Family sing-a-longs are always fun! It would put everyone in the Christmas spirit and warm the moment! It's the little things that last forever...and they are free.

One of the most forgotten reasons we celebrate Christmas is the fact that it is the Birthday of Jesus Christ. Bake or buy a great Birthday Cake for everyone to share...it is a great traditon to start, and will always be a reminder for children (and some of us adults) of the real "reason for the season".
Merry Christmas to you and yours
