Setting: 10 / 10
There is simply no place like it anywhere in Asia. Upon entry you are immediately captivated by the 3-storey glass enclosed wine tower housing over 7000 bottles of the world’s finest wines. The room is spacious with plenty of cozy corners and booths to settle into. There are four private rooms; three have al fresco dining with expansive views of the Singapore skyline that are as memorable as they are stunning. The fourth private dining is in the wine cellar, which seats 8 – 18 persons - perfect place to celebrate a birthday or event.

Food: 9 / 10
The Executive Chef Victor Tan has quite a task at hand creating food as stunning as the surroundings, but there is no doubt in our mind that his culinary artistry rises to the challenge. The Mediterranean touch to all the dishes shows Chef Victors affinity with Italian cuisine. Diners can expect plenty of garlic and lashings of olive oil. The christchurch, portabello mushroom grilled to perfection topped with fragrant garlic, Italian parsley, melted goats cheese and dizzled with olive oil, simple and delicious. The foie gras, which seems to be on every menu nowadays, is one of the best we have had, firm without being overcooked. The hail caesar, a caesar with a difference. Chef Victor also specializes in pastas, the truffled lobster pasta is still a favourite and as for the fettuccini fantastico it's simply fantastic. The kitchen seems to be more comfortable with dishes like the duck confit, the perfect mix of sift duck and crispy skin and a glorious ossobucco braised in a white wine, sage and vegetable sauce. For desserts, the apple crumble and the ever popular pistachio creme brulee is still the way to go, for the chocolate lovers, the chocolathe is yummy.

Service: 7.5 / 10
Helpful and charming, and definitely very attentive. They aim to please but as we all know, service in Singapore is never what we should expect.

Wine: 10 / 10
This perennial winner of the prestigious Wine Spectator magazine award has one of Asia’s best wine lists. Whether your budget is S$50 or S$500 there is a special wine for you. Offering 28 wines by the glass, they offer the most choice in Singapore. If you need help navigating the list of over 1800 selections, the wine team is here to help. The Head Sommelier, Kelvin Tay, is second to none with a very comprehensive knowledge of both old world and new world wines.

Price: Dinner for 2 will set you back about S$90 without wine or alcohol.

Oy, the man said he dun want buffet, you go recommend buffet for wat? dun copy the reviews from Tatler ok? I oso haf the book lah.
Pardon my Singlish.

Well, Singapore's a reputable name when it comes to food. You can walk into most restuarants and expect to be serve reasonably good fare. However, since you pointed out the money is no object, (I'm assuming that you want to pay $100 for something you can buy at $3) I would recommend in Botanic Gardens this cafe (can't recall the name), in Orchard Rd, Pre Rouge, Blu in Shangri-La, Tung Lok (many outlets). So these recommendations covers Chinese, French, and International Cuisine.

Sunday lunch? Just starting it now.....half a dozen Cadbury's chocolate shortcake biscuits! They will be followed by 2 or 3 {& the rest lol} Tesco mini chocolate flavoured doughnuts. Not the healthiest of lunches but very, very nice! Dinner tonight will probably be Shepherd's Pie.
