After Indians were taken to Britain for the first time,there were fewer Indians who left for Britain. why?

Since they were not Christians, they were not considered as people, but some kind of creatures and they would never get any human rights by the society and law of Britain!

Why fewer left for Britain? I think many of those that went were forced... Even today most people would probably rather stay in their homeland...
