i posted a question about what i thought was wrong with my race,(balck) i only got a few mean answers but i see all to often that many o fmy people refuse to see whats wrong with us and want to blame "the white man" for everything. and whay do we use the word n-i-g-g=a? its horrible its what racist use to call us. (yeah they use ni-gg-er and n--i-g-g=a) but they still don't wanna see it. i agree that not everyone of us is like that but we should try to have a more repectable culture. most of the kids at my school and alot of others ones don't have any intrest and really do care about were we come from as a people and don't wanna learn. doesn't it bother them we basically don't have a cutlure, that we can get morals and ideals from. (we had to adopt ours) i believe or generation should shap up and be role models for the many african americans to come.

Carmie,
many, no countless races have opressed people(egytians opressed hebrews, persians opressed jews) so don't tell me i need to be educated your the one that should educate yourself. and yeah, whites have opressed blacks and others (look at native americans, they were bascially kicke out their own country by whites) but we shouldn't just blame them and complain about it. do something to get out of your problems, because obvilusly blaming the "white man" isn't going to get you a job or a good education, you are.

I don't mean to be rude but we sterotype ourselves when we tell each other when we say what we should and should not like, do etc.

I agree with you. I feel that we are our own worst enemy. Instead of blaming others, we need to better ourselves and move on. We also need to stop using that word. Out of all the minorities, we are the only ones who embrace a negative word used to describe us. Look what happened to Bill Cosby, he tried to get this across to us, but many don't want to hear it and he was rediculed.

If we would all realize that each race has differant traits and personalities, and stop trying to make everyone the same. If everybody was exactly alike that would be super boring. I feel the African-Americans have been catered to - to their own hurt. A friend I trained with I now call Sir. Because he is one of my bosses. He new he could do it and did. Hope all this makes sense.
The reason you don't get much feedback on race issues is because it is really a no issue now days. Racism is now more of an individual to individual problem instead of a group problem. We are all on the same boat now.

You know -- this is the first sane posting about Prejudice that I've seen in a while -- and to lump all people into one category (and the category can include those who were also oppressed and enslaved over the many centuries) -- well, that is why PREJUDICE has such a strong hold on our society.
It is when we, the individuals in the society take the initiative and UNDERSTAND We ARE the people who must take the ADULT Consequences for our own POOR Choices that Prejudice can disappear, and personal RESPONSIBILITY appears - and that ... is the end of this ugly spot in history.

Amen! Black folks as a whole should want to have a better life for themselves. It's not only a "white" thing to desire a better education, nice home to live in, a decent paying job. Our people during slavery did not endure the whippings, lynchings or emotional/verbal insults so that our generation can sit back & party all the time or use the "N" word for fun. The slaves endured all that so that we can have the chance to improve in our lot and we should want to take advantage of that.

It's mostly Black people who refuse to acknowledge what a $hithole thay people is in, sista! Lol, seriously, a lot of Black people seem content to simply stay in poverty and gobble up those food stamps. If anyone criticizes anything remotely Black, people start parading down the street, protesting and blaming all of their lives' problems on the White man. Not all Black folks are like this, just a significant portion....enough to make most other groups really cynical about Black people and their desire to actually change their terrible circumstances.

I have the same problem in my school. Some black kids act really ghetto and it only looks bad for others in our race. They help prove the stereotypes people have about black Americans. I also think any one black and white uses the ****** looks ignorant. There are many other word to use besides one that has a history or bigotry You cant change the mentally of black kids who make the rest of us look bad. You just need to set a personal standard. Make a example of your self and show others you can succeed beyond their expectations.

I am sorry I don't want to hurt your feelings but the only thing wrong with any race is what is between the ears. There are good and bad of any race. As for the white man most of them are of mixed blood very few are 100% white. They are mixed with so many races from Indian, Hispanic,Oriental and on and on including black.

Anyone who has to resort to racial discrimination is screwed up in the head, whether the average person (a racist in SOME way, may I remind you) thinks so or not.

What wrong with "us"?
Nothing wrong with me.
I like who I am.
Everyone has to protect there own neck. The "balck" race did nothing for you, no race does nothing for those who belong to it.
Only hard work helps you, not race.
