Why are parents trying to suck the fun out of everything? Isn't it a good thing to let your children have an imagination? Isn't Santa a symbol for Christmas. He stands for love and giving. What is so horrible about that. Can't we just let children be children for a while. Why are parent's trying to make their kids grow up so fast? What ever happened to some good old fashioned playing?
I do believe.....I do believe....I do believe...... Merry Christmas everyone.

I agree with you!! My children are grown now, but I Loved sharing Santa with them as they were growing up. We had Santa Claus when we were small, and I wanted my children to enjoy him too. I have six grandchildren, who are looking forward to Santa's visit on Christmas morning.
I am 57 and I believe in Santa Claus and the Spirit of Giving!

I no longer believe in Santa Claus. I don't know when I stopped believing, but I wasn't traumatized. I find it annoying when my mother and aunt act like there really is a Santa Claus, because they're both in their 40s-50s, and how can you believe in Santa when you're the one filling the stockings and placing presents under the tree? Get a grip, you know?
I don't know what I'm going to tell my children, when I have them, but for now with my almost 3 year old nephew, I'll go along with whatever his parents tell him.
By the way... you really ought not trust anyone with as many aliases as Santa Claus. Seriously... Santa Claus, Kris Kringle, St. Nicholas, Father Christmas... he's gotta be hiding something! What's his real name?!
*cough*

I under no circumstances did think in Santa Claus, however my husband mentioned he felt thoroughly betrayed by means of the entire adults in his existence while he learned that Santa wasn't truly. For this purpose(and no longer for the reason that we are lazy Jennifer F), we are educating our kids that Santa is a fictional man or woman made up for a laugh, proper from the begin. We nonetheless watch all of the equal Christmas specials, we simply ensure that they are aware of it's make think. Jesus is the purpose for the season besides!! Merry Christmas and God Bless!!

I was so distraught when I found out that I went into denial for several years and pretended he was real even thought I really knew the truth. I was never mad at my parents about it though. I'm grateful to have had those years where I believed without a shadow of doubt. I love my parents for letting me believe that myth and trying to make it become real for me. Children need magic and wonderment in their lives and I think we can retain it in our adulthood if we allow it in. Merry Christmas to you too!

Wait!
What are you trying to say?
Did something happen to Santa?
It almost sound like..., nah, that can't be right-can it.
More customs regulations for Santa Clause to meet at the U.S. boarder! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
MERRY CHRISTMAS

I was not "damaged for life", but I lost some respect for my parents because they lied to me for years. The real symbol of Christmas is Jesus Christ not santa[sic].

My daughter who is 8 asked me about 2 months ago
"Mommy you said you would never lie to me right?" It was October so I never thought she was going to ask me about Santa. I said I would never lie so when she asked me if I was the one who put gifts under the tree and filled her stocking I told her it was me. She replied "OH, I thought so" . Now every time someone says to her " Santa's watching " she rolls her eyes at me and says " I know "
