I'll second the BBC. While CNN, New York Times, and Foxnews are great for the US, BBC tends to be pretty centrist and balanced when it comes to issues. It also covers more of the world than the formers. If you're truly into news, then I'd suggest using at least 2 different news sources so you can truly develop a well informed opinion. In my mind its not possible for any human institution to be unbiased. Biased is built into us and its built into our language, so it's best to get two sources help offset the inherent biases. BBC does an excellent job of providing insight and differing opinions on issues. The website is www.bbc.co.uk. I've heard Al Jazeera is good too (for real!!), if for no other reason than to look at the world through a non-Western persepective.
