DEFINITELY NILES!! Nelson reminds me of that geek on Even Stevens, search it on the web. Nelson just sounds like a dorky name. NILES is cool and calm and collected!

Nelly; Norton; Nathan; Nate; Ned; Neal; Nevil; Newton; Niccolo (Nicco); Nicholas; Niko; Nick; Noe; Nolan; Norman; Nyle.

Between Niles and Nelson, I would say Niles because Nelson reminds me of some kid on the show The Simpsons.

Nelson is OK, but I love Nickolas. Nash is cool too. Niles reminds me of Miles from Murphy Brown and he was such a dork. Neil is nice too.

Neither. Too much teevee there in both.

Nathan = hot dogs.
Nicholas = only for a boy born in December.

Nigel is woefully underused in N. America. Nash is cars, rock and roll. Nevin is easy to pronounce.

Well...first things first..... Would you want him to be a bigger fan of Frasier or of the Simpsons. "HA -HA!!!"(as Nelson from the Simpsons would say.) Lol!
Seriously though,I don't even watch much television, and I don't like either one of those names simply because they would remind me of the characters on those two shows.
If you like them though, that's great.
Just as a suggestion, how about a combo of each? Like "Nilson". I think that could be kinda cool and different too.

I dont really like either one, but if I were a boy, I think I would like Niles more... although.... well, I dont know... He's definetly going to have to grow into his name. Its not a baby name. LOL.
