Practice dribbling without looking at the ball. Dribble everywhere. Bring a ball with you as often as you can and don't stop dribbling. When you get the mail. When you do your homework. When you go on vacation. Also, get away from the basket and go for walks where you do nothing but dribble.
Work on the arch of your shot by standing directling below the basket and shooting with one hand. It should rise will above the rim and not hit the rim as it falls through. Once you perfect this, step back three feet until you perfect that. And continue moving backwards over a period of weeks, not minutes. Your arch is crucial to developing a fundamental shot.
Lastly, go to basketball camp. Play with people who are better than you as often as you can no matter how difficult or uncomfortable it is.
I played basketball for many years and though I don't play often anymore I learned more about life playing basketball than anything else I've done.

I'm a PG myself, i used to play high school ball. Everyone has their own style, however i'm always thinking pass first. Of course you should work on your handling of the ball and your mid-long range shot. Aside from that, grabbing attention is also key. Getting past the first defender and driving in drawing more defenders and dishing a pass to an open teammate for an easy bucket is what I aim for. Offensive awareness is a key in the success of a PG, you run the offense.

there are a lot of things you can do, ball handling is a must, defense is the most important part of the game so work on your lateral quickness, know who the scorers are on your team, and you must be able to manage the game-if your team is winning then you need quality shots, if your team is behind then you need to pick up the pace and score quickly, you should have the ball and lead everything so you have to know what you're doing all the time, continually work on your skills and if you're having trouble remind yourself that it will make things easier when you start playing, the most important thing is conditioning- you wont be able to use your skills to the fullest if you are out of shape

Im shooting guard but i would make sure you get the ball to your teamates so they can get the chance to score ( Steve Nash won the mvp two years in a row not because he led the leage in scoring because he had like 11 assists per game last year). A point guard needs to decide when to run a fast-break and when to slow down and run a half-court offence. You got to be a good baller other wise you will literally get your *** handed to you, also dont be afraid to be a leader. Its your game when you at point. IIght.

I would say think of weaknesses that you have, think of some things in basketball your not good at, and work on thise weaknesses. Your not gonna get better overnight. Do alot of research on stuff you can't do. Ask somebody you know that knows the game of basketball and can teach you. Google Basketball tips.

As a PG, remember that your job is setting plays for other people. So look around for open guys, or even better, create opening for them. Saying this, you need to have a monster dribble and ball handling.

anyone can dribble down the court, make sure you're able to handle the ball under pressure. get a couple of ur friends and make them chase you around your driveway and try not to turn it over. make sure you keep you're head up when you're dribbling, don't look down at the ball. practice making good hard chest passes and bounce passes. and most importantly work on your FREE THROWS. i don't care what position you play, it's important to be able to make those easy shots, especially with the game on the line.

Learn to dribble with both hands, and learn how to penetrate different defenses. Once the defense closes in, pass out and your teamates should have an open shot.
