You maybe asking for the impossible when it comes to "a cheap and good. lawyer". However, maybe I can explain the process a little which may help you choose the right lawyer who is reasonably priced.
Only deal with an AV rated lawyer this is the highest rating a lawyer can receive. An AV rating is a significant accomplishment and a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence. A lawyer must be admitted to the bar for 10 years or more to receive an AV rating.
Call several law firms in your area and ask for a consultation. All good lawyers offer a free initial consultation. Ask them questions on how they would defend your son's case. Ask how many similar cases have they defended successfully. When negotiating a fee, ask if they will accept a reasonable down payment and to spread the balance over time. Typically the rule of dumb is 40% percent down initially, 15% at arraignment, 15% pre-trial motions and 30% prior to commencement of trial. (3 weeks before trial starts) Remember even if at the last moment a deal is struck the lawyer has already spent several weeks preparing for trial.
After you have interviewed a few lawyers select the best candidate you would like to represent your son and discuss it with him but remember it’s his life and he should have the last say.
Do not under-estimate the importance of having the lawyer you want at the arraignment if possible. An enormous amount can be learned about a case by and during the arraignment. The importance of the issue of bail can not be overlooked either. The arraignment may seem like only a few minutes, but they can be among the most important few minutes of the entire case. A lot can be uncovered !
At the arraignment / bond hearing the judge will make a decision that may well have lasting implications in the case. It makes sense, then, to have a lawyer early who will be with the case later on and who will make the defense arguments at trial. Sometimes, a great deal can be learned about the case informally from a simple arraignment.
Below I have included links to AV rated criminal defense lawyer listings and the step by step arrest thru arraignment process.
Best to you and yours,
Joe

You may have a long search. In my experience, good lawyers are seldom cheap and cheap lawyers are seldom good. If your son is accused of a felony, he is entitled to a public defender if he can't afford private counsel. That is probably your best bet.

Being married to somebody for 10 years would not assure you alimony. The court will award alimony till the female can get on her ft and get a job to take over the money of the charges she won. yet not in each case. this could have been address once you adult men entered the suitable orders and filed the suitable decree. the new child help is a math formula used to calculate your husbands earnings to confirm what he can or could pay. Be very grateful that he's paying something, many, many ineffective beat dads available.
