Pain can heighten pleasure which makes the pain not so painful. Of course how much pain a person can handle varies. Like I don't like my hair to be pulled. Yet in a moment of pleasure where there might be some dominance going on I do like it pulled. It's sort of exciting. Because of the excitement it doesn't make it painful it just hightens the pleasure of the moment.
